Safety @ BazGym
Here at BazGym, we strive to teach your children gymnastics in a fun and safe environment. But, there are some things that you can help too. We will talk to your children daily about staying safe, we would also want you to talk to them if you see them doing things that look unsafe.
Listed below are some particular things that we encourage you and your children to think about.
All students must have their hair tied away from their face, and no jewelry or earrings.
All girls should wear a body leotard, or shorts and t-shirt tucked in,
All boys should wear a t-shirt tucked into shorts or stretch pants.
Talk to your child about staying in line, not talking in class and listen carefully to the coach.
Keep all brothers and sisters off the gymnastics equipments.
Do not use the equipments without coach supervision.
Absolutely no playing or running around during the class.
Look around before you move and cross in front of other groups.
Do not follow too closely to the student ahead of you.
Tell the coach if you are feeling unwell.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q What are the benefits of learning gymnastics?
A
2) Help Children Develop Self-Confidence
If children can first control and maneuver their own body, then it is quite reasonable to assume they can better control and maneuver themselves AND implements (bats, skipping rope) or projectiles (ball). Likewise, they can better control themselves in various mediaq (water, snow) or better manage themselves AND an opponent.
3) Physically Fit!
The gymnastics component of our program enhance Physical Abilities such as:
- Flexibility, Strength and Muscular endurance
As well as basic Motor Abilities such as:
- Balance, Agility, Co-ordination and Spatial orientation
Q Can I drop my child(ren) off for classes and pick them up later?
A BazGym is not equipped to supervise children before or after classes. Parents of children who are unable to safely supervise themselves are advised to stay on-site during their child’s class. We do have cases of children hurting themselves unsupervised before or after their classes.
Q Do you offer make-ups classes?
A We offer make-up classes to students with valid medical certification. Make-up classes cannot be bought over to another term. We will try our best to offer the make-up classes timing to your convenience. However, failing which, we will not be refunding you for the missed class.
Q What if my child(ren) has minor illness which does not warrant a doctor visit?
A We do offer make-up for this situation, BUT on a case by case basis. However, we would like to inform you that we only offer this where doing so does not jeopardize safety or the integrity of other class.
Q Why is there a $50 registration fee?
A This is to encourage consistency in attendance over the years. The benefits of any educational program come from long term involvement. Our choice to charge a one-time registration fee rather than an annual administrative fee is to encourage you to stay long with us. It may help to reminds you that most other school or centers charges an annual membership fee or administrative fee.
Q Can both of my kids attend the same class at the same time?
A This will depend on their individual age and skill level. More often than not, siblings will not be placed in the same class because of age differences. We will try our best to offer you classes where you can bring both of your kids on a single day. We have even gone to the extent in opening up new classes for siblings so that both can attend on the same day.
Q Will you notify or remind me on the EBP deadline?
A Yes. We will send a notice to inform you of the deadline. However, the school fees now have been restructured and consistent, therefore, we will only send out notice to remind you of the deadline.
Q Why are some terms lesser than 12 weeks, yet term fee still remain level?
A For the same reason it is not feasible for institutions to charge varying amounts for rents, auto payments or installments, even though the days in the months range from 28 to 31 days. We calculate our yearly operational costs, and spread it out throughout the 4 terms.
